The various interface splits in the dissimilar metal weld joint parts of the reactor stress vessel used in NPPs are likely to deviate from the preliminary direction into alloy 182, and the user interface crack propagation path fluctuation is small. ![]() The results indicate that the user interface crack extension is easy to take place in the specimens with larger ultimate tensile power mismatch, while the elastic modulus mismatch offers little effects on break extension. Nevertheless, the mechanised and material qualities in weld joints are heterogeneous, which will create the discontinuous distribution of stress and strain nearby break tip and influence the crack propagation.
